Default am I crazy

I want to get away from having to smog a diesel in ca and looking to get a 92-97 ford f350 crew cab 4x4 and go 12v auto. all the fords around here have 5 speeds and I want an auto. so what trans would I need to run behind the 12v a 47rh? would a vp and a 47re be a pain? I like the idea of having adjustable timing....

as long as u had a complete wiring harness, and ecm for the vp and re, it wouldnt be hard at all.

if u go the 12v route, i would go with a 47rh.

thanks. I think the 12v is most reliable and easiest to do. Just wondering on getting it all through the floor not in the way so the wife can drive the truck too she is short.

the 12v would be easier, but it looks like you know your way around a VP truck also, so I think it would be a possibility.
