If I could just get into a building, I'd be more than happy to do conversions, done a few Dodge ones already.

Mark.

Well Mark that would be one fun payed vacation... I have the building and most all the tools we would need. My wife and I are hella good cooks. I might have to plan it after tax returns. If you're serious we can start making this happen!

Mark:
I got your PM, but it wont let me send you one until my post counts up.

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

My question to you and to anyone; What would be a rough idea of how much this will cost from start to finish?

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

Now I know there's many ways to do this, but I am talking the way that will cost the least to get the burb just to where it will pull my 25 foot camp trailer and two wheeler on a small trailer up the canyon without heating up or breaking down.

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

After that, I can bomb proof it a little at a time.

---AutoMerged DoublePost---

Next question is; Those of you that put these cummins engines in, where do you get them? And those who do this on a very limited budget, what are some tips?

buy a complete truck dont try piecing it together. and make sure everything runs and works good before buying it. but no matter what way you look at it it isnt a cheap conversion in general.

So then in your case, why even do it. If you are buying a complete truck anyway that runs and works good? Why not just drive that dodge you bought instead of putting it in a chevy, that doesn't have a solid front axle?

Mechanically sound high-mileage worn out beater trucks (1st/2nd Gen Dodges) are available for alot less than a long block, even a used one.

Here in Utah I use KSL.com classifieds to find stuff. Where do you guys from out of this area find your 1st/2nd gen Dodges?
