Default Vacuum pump clearance issues

Hey Guys,,, I'm needing a little help/advice on vacuum pump clearances on my F350. I have the enigne sitting in the frame, ready to fab up moutns, but one of the diaphrams on the vacuum pump are hitting the steering box on the frame.

I'm using a 1990 Cummins and the vacuum pump has 2 diaphrams. One points straight out over the steering box, and one straight down. The one that sticks down hits the steering box. I also have a pump from a 1996 5.9, but there are things in the way of this one also. The oil sending unit is really close, and bracket from the intake down to the side of the block keep it from bolting up to the timing housing.

Suggestions?

I will get some pics today of what is going on, but I think I am over this hurdle.

In the meantime,, I was able to get the '96 vacuum/power steering pump on. I cut the bracket that went from the intake to the block to clear the pump, and welded a piece of flatbar in a "z" shape and was able to bolt it to the original bolt hole on the block. The pump clears the oil sending unit by maybe a 1/4". Without the brace welded on, it was really weak in the area that the throttle cable will mount. It clears the steering box on the frame now.

Working on getting the throttle cable, and the cruise control cables mounted. Waiting on motor mount insulators to come in , and still looking for a tranny.

thanks,,,,,,,,,,
