Well, I just picked up a doner car the other day, 85 300sd, and been driving it for the last two days. Looks to be a very good motor, lots of power and quiet! I will be pulling it this weekend and with luck swaped onto the jeep next week.

Well, I just finished installing the "new" motor in the Jeep today. Everything looks and sounds real good, but didn't have time to take it for a cruise yet. Maybe tomorow before I have to go back to work. I also sold the last of the parts from the doner car today, so with the money I got for the body plus the parts I sold ,the motor was FREE!!

Can't beat that deal!!!! Glad to hear you have it back on the road!!!

Thanks, I took it for a quick drive before I left for work and it runs real smooth. Got to finish up a few loose ends before I start driving it, but the wifes rig needs serviceing first before we go on a trip next week. I have waited this long, a few more weeks won't kill me!

Hi all, I got a chance to do a little work on the Jeep. I hooked up a boost gauge to see what's going on before I start adjusting. Stock trim, 10lbs of boost, but it takes a while to get there, possible causes are the 30in tires and 1600 stall torque converter. The ALDA still has the factory seal, so off it came and 1 1/2 turns later and WOW what a difference off the line!!! Still no black smoke off the line so more adjustments may follow. I still think the t/conv could be a little higher stall, but not so much that I am going to change. If I were going to tow it may be a different story. Anyway, It's a kick to drive!

Be VERY careful adjusting the ALDA. When the screw starts to resist turning, STOP. It is very easy to twist off and then the ALDA doesn't work at all. Lots of people have learned this the hard way...

Yea, I was REAL careful due to the oops factor. It was factory set and more than likely on the lean side due to the Cali emm. The t/c is real tight, at idle it wants to creep even if you are on a hill, so I was a little concerned until I made that adjustment, not sure how much is left to adj. I didn't have time to work on it after the initial adj.

If it is trying to creep too much at idle, there's a simple solution for that - set the idle lower!
