Hyde> Not gonna happen, I'm a welder remember, whining and complaining is in my job description!!!
99stakedpowerstroke> I prefer the Cummins/Ford combo myself over the Powerstroke, but I don't think mine is crying about gettin' rid of the gas sucking 460!!!
C16_power> I can take a pic for you after work tonight if you want, but all I did was use the ford cable that was in the truck, welded a washer on the shift lever on the A518 to match the cable end hole size to it and bolted it on. Works perfectly. Had to wire OD on a separate toggle though, the Ford OD button on the shifter won't work. From what we can tell it only sends a momentary signal to the ecu to turn the OD on or off when you push the button. As for tanks, I kept the gasser tanks and just put diesel fill necks on them. Soon as I find one for a good deal I'm going to swap out my rear tank for a bronco tank too, which holds around 33 gallons I believe it is.

92 cummins f250 if you could snap a pic for me I'd appreciate that! Did you reuse the pumps in the tanks too? I got mine bolted in, it's a crew cab long bed and lucked out with the driveshaft fitting like a glove.
I agree cummins is a great engine had a durajunk and it was nothing but problems especially injectors. As far as big truck goes, pre 2003 nothing beats the roar of a single turbo CAT, had a c15 14.6L block doing 980whp. Turned a million miles and it went south, I loved that motor now I own a 12.7 Detroit

Yeah, I can take those pics for you tomorrow. And yeah, I just used the stock in tank pumps with a holley pressure regulator, the part number and I think what I paid for it is back in this thread somewhere. Seems to be working just fine so far. The biggest engine my Dad ever owned in his big rigs was a 525 Cummins.
Hyde> Wow, I left myself wide open for welder comments and YOU didn't say anything?!?!?!?

Thanks! 525 was a strong motor. N14s had head gasket issues but would run hard.

Cool. My Dad worked for quite a few different companies over the years but the last 10-12 years that he drove he was an owner-operator. He was contracted through System-TWT here in Spokane for getting loads though.
