Ya You're probably right I've been thinking all day about it I may just hold off on that project I'm going to get the engine it is a rediculous price but thinking my buddy's toyota that I am getting from him when he gets back from the land of sand. would be perfect it's an 87 straight axle 5 inches of lift engine and tranny already gone so if I slap a nv4500 behine it and do some custom work I can make it work.

 

So what tranny would go good behind the toyota I hate automatics so I'm looking at the nv4500 or getrag I don't plan on making tons of power but would like to turn it up higher than what it is stock it is 116hp I think 150hp in a toyota would be perfectly fine.

 

are you keeping a stock toyota motor or a cummins in it?

 

I am going to try and squeeze the 4bt into it. Toyota is already minus the drivetrain. It has been done and I know it will take a lot of time but I think it would be fun to try.

 

ya a 4bt would be a good choice for that. i would try and find a 4bt with a trans already on it. and if you just want to crawl it, id put an auto behind it. unless your really prone to a manual than either one of those trans would be fine

 

Ya I've already found the 4bt it's out of a pump 97 model with almost no hours really cheap 116 hp with an hx30 I'm just going to start watching for a tranny now
