I have a 1996 ram 2500 with a 12v. I have it running excellent, 4x4 chassis and everything is great. No the body and electrical system are a different story. The previous owner hacked up the wiring with a plow install, alarm install, and god knows what else. It started on fire and trashed everything under the dash. The body is junk. I have my eye on a 97 1500 that has a excellent body and interior, and the wiring is stock. Both have auto trannys. Can I swap the 1500 body onto the 2500 chassis with little mods, or is it gonna need a harness for a 2500 diesel?

 

your going to need all of the diesel wiring. at least for the engine/transmission and the dash wiring at the minimum

 

Sounds like you have nothing more than one ol big mess!

 

Abandon ship and start over if you can.
