The "new" motor was a P-pump motor and it was out of a 1994 CF7000 Ford cabover box truck, shown below...

The motor was a fresh Cummins Recon and was probably one of the cleanest diesels I've ever seen, inside and out. I had to turn the oil pan around (which was front-sump on the box truck) using the pickup tube from the 1st Gen, then pulled off the #2 bellhousing adaptor and big Eaton 6-speed and bloted up the 1st Gen adaptor plate and Getrag tranny, while adding a South Bend cluth along the way. The awesome part, in my mind anyway, is that since the engine was out of a "medium duty" truck with air brakes, it has a two-lung Bendix compressor mounted where the vacuum pump usually is, and a Vickers hydraulic pump for power steering and the eventual late '90s F-Superduty hydra-boost assembly.

It's a slow project now that I'm working my butt off out in the field, but I've loved every minute of it and can't wait to get it back out on the road. It sound SO much meaner with the 4" downpipe and the PhatShaft turbo...so I'm super excited!

93 fummins sweet truck. Would you mind giving me the specs on your front bumper? Save me the time searching.. Some punks stole my bumpers when I left my truck at a job site to car pool to save fuel.. They were bumpers like yours and can't afford to buy those plus insurance only pays for black stock ones... Guess I'm out my winch tho...

Question for ya. Do you have your exhaust manifold flipped? Mine is at stock position right now, and my turbo and 3" DP barely clear my A/C box. If I switch to a turbo with a 4" DP I'm gonna have to move something around

In all honesty, I built the bumper myself ON the truck and just made it up as I went. I made a few sketches first to get an idea, but ultimately just started cutting and welding as I saw fit. If I get a chance I'll take some measurements for you, but I'm in the field chasing rigs right now and won't be back home for a few weeks.

Yes, the manifold is flipped and there is plenty of room with the PhatShaft 62 and 4" downpipe.

Where did ya get the isolators for the mot. mounts? I have a lot of vibes from the stock 1st gen rubber, figure somethin like your set up could cure some of that. She looks good man!

I picked up a pair of bushings w/DOM sleeves from BallisticFabrication.com

Ballistic Poly Bushing

My dad and I fabbed up the rest of the mounts and crossmember mounting ears. Thus far, I they are holding up and isolate engine vibration fairly well. However, I do plan on rebuilding the mounts and crossmember when I get ready to link and 'bag the truck, and I would probably go a different route with the mounts given that I question the longevity of my current setup due to relatively small distribution area of the bushing sleeve; I fear that the bolt sleeves will wear into the bushing and start to get sloppy. Just my opinion...but then again, I can never leave well enough alone

Those are an EXCELLENT donor! Some of the tandems and tractor trucks used the 8.3L C engine.

The catch is only the last couple years used cummins engines. The earlier ones used the Ford 6.6 and 7.8L 'brazillian' diesels.
