Angry 97 F350 Engine Swap... NEED HELP!!

I have a 97 f350 with a PowerStroker with AT... It sucks I want more power, and I dont want to make a lot of wiring, I think the 6bt would be great for me, but I want another tranny either... Maybe a manual one, to make a good use of the cummins, do you know which one should I install with the 6bt?? I dont know if matters but my truck is 4x4, is there a lot of trouble if i decide to change my old trans?? I really really need some advice, and also some where I can get them....

Thanks!!!!

Go with the 6bt and have your tranny built. They make adapter kits and wiring kits as well! Painless wiring makes a wiring harness kit.

Thanks man, but isn better to put a manual trans on it? I personally dont like automatics.... which manual trans would be better for the 6bt? still would be needing extra wiring for that?

I put a 5.9 in my 92 F350. The worst part was putting in the clutch lever assembly in place. I went from the E4OD boat anchor and kept the NV4500 from the Cummins. Fortunately I was planning on using all gages and no idiot lights so that saved a lot of conversions. Not sure what you would have to do for a '97 model. Motor mounts came out of Great Falls Montana and then I had an adapter plate made to raise the engine one bolt hole on that mount. This let the Dodge radiator and intercooler to fit under the hood. I slid the trans crossmember forward one hole and placed it on the bottom of the frame and this brought my carrier bearing directly inline to the rearend. Most of it was lucky but I dont mind that help. Another good thing that happened was that the shifter came right into the body directly in the middle of the inspection panel on the floor board.
