Welp, I went to the towing auction and bought an 88 Ford Ranger 2.9 4x4 manual for under 600 bucks. Long story short I no sooner got it running then I found out it was making a smoothie in the crankcase. I have an idi Kubota 2003t sitting on my shop floor and the adapters to adapt it to the 5 speed in the truck that I bought for a different swap which got out of hand and turned into a "while I'm at it" type deal. I'm thinking about swapping it since I have all the major components and it should be straight forward due to the age of the truck. The biggest hurdle is getting the flywheel machined to work. Anyone off hand know the distance from the back of the block to the face of the flywheel on an 88 2.9 v6? Also anyone done this type of swap on this truck and have any advice?
