Default Kubota swapping a 94 Ranger.

I bought a v2003t idi to swap into a 94 ford ranger 4x4 extended cab. I'm a little concerned about power and weather or not I'll be able to add enough to make it decent to drive. Would I be better off going with a different power plant?

I have a 99 version of the same truck with a V2203 and it has plenty of power. I also reduced my rear gear ratio to 3.45 and it will run 85

Are you running idi or di. I assume that would make some difference when trying to push more power? My boss's neighbor has a v3300t that he would sell me for a decent price and I'm thinking of going that route. I already have the adapter for the 03 series Kubota to the m5r1hd which is my only hold up on changing direction.

I'm running a DI. I would think the 3300 would be more suited to a full size half ton but I'm not sure what the external dimensions are. I would like to have a 3300 to put in an F-150.

I saw one setting on a shop floor. They are narrower than the v6 that was in my truck but maybe a little bit longer. I'd like a v2403t ideally but a v2003t and a v3300 are what I have access to without breaking the bank. I don't mind having excess power but I am worried about not having enough. I'm putting it in an extended cab 4x4 ranger. Maybe with a bigger turbo and bigger injectors I can get enough power to make the v2003t work.

Too much fuel in these little kubotas will melt them down. I have my fuel screw turned up 1.5 turns and my EGTs will climb to 1200 if I let it. I'm going to back mine down 1/4 turn to see if I can keep it safe and still make the power to pull it down the highway.

Are you running a stock turbo? A bigger turbo should keep the EGTs down in theory at least.

There actually is no stock turbo for this motor but it is a K03 which is tried and proven on these motors. It's made 25 psi in short runs, so the boost is fine. Where did you get your 03 adapter plate? Is it one you fabricated or manufactured commercially?

I found a guy who had two extra from when he made his in 2010. I figured I'd use one and keep the other for a pattern for more if anyone wanted them.
