Default Chevy/cummins swap

Hey guys I had a couple questions about a cummins swap. I want to start a project and convert a 80s/90s Chevy to cummins. However I've never done a project like this. I have a buddy that has his own shop that will help me. I just want to know before I get into this if somebody can give me an estimated cost to do this? And tell me a little about the process if doing this

The less you pull the plastic out of your wallet the cheaper it will be...

You could spend $2K or $10K… depends on how much you can/are willing to fabricate vs. buying. If you have to have all new stuff it's expensive…

herk's pricing is dead on you depending on what you start with and your capabilities. Best way to do this swap is really with a complete donor vehicle which you will pay anywhere from $1000 to alot of money depending on mileage and condition. Doing this swap piece meal is very expensive, I am currently doing this swap on a ford and I will be very close to $8,000 but I will also have around 500hp and that is with me doing all the work. Also chevies are about the hardest option for the cummins swap firewall and frame issues.

Wrong they are no problem at all. In my 88 Chevy Dually 4X2 5.9 swap i have less than 1200.00 in it. Now the 95 Chevy Dually 4X4 i am doing, i am going to be in it all of 10k but i have done a bunch to the truck as well as the motor and trans. So it depends on what you start with and how far you want to go.
