What are you guys using for a fuel/ lift pump? My V2203 does not appear to have one on it. It had one of those little pulsing parts store universal type on the fuel line attached to it. I'm not sure if that is adequate. If not, what would be the proper/ maximum fuel pressure?

It does not have a hand pump. Where a manual pump would be, there is a block off plate.

I use a high pressure electric with a regulator that dumps back to the tank. I adjusted to around 12 PSI.

I'm really starting on considering doing a v2203 swap into a Ranger. Few questions I have for the people have done this swap and I apologize in advance if these have already been asked.

What radiator did you use? If I grabbed a Ranger with any of the gas options would the factory radiator be too much or just enough?

For daily driving and going on trips mostly highway which turbo has been a good overall for this?

Is there any real big difference between the 2.3L, 3.0L and 4.0L M5R1 transmission or which one is better over the others?

Thanks!

One other thing, what is a good A/C compressor to use with the v2203 with a v-belt?

I've got a Kubota powered Ranger, and it was a 2.3 truck. I used the stock radiator and it cools just fine, the V-6 rad is a better option as the in and out are on the correct side for the Kubota. I just have a long lower hose. I think any of the M5R1's are good, there may be a small difference in gear ratios but not enough to notice with the high torque of the Kubota. The main thing you want to consider is final gear ratio. Depending on tire size, you need to keep the RPM's @ 2000 to be in it's power band, over that and your mpg's begin to suffer. I'm running 3.45 gear and 29" tires. If your thinking on A/C I would go serpentine belt. Hope that helps.

Using the grimmjeeper gear calculator with an optional 245/75/16 (30") looks like at 70mph it'll be at around 2100rpm with a 3.45 gear ratio. With the same tire but 3.73 its at 2275rpm. I probably would not want to go any higher than that since the next jump is a 2.73, 2.47 and 2.26 at which point it probably would be dropping in and out of 5th gear to keep it going uphill and bucking a head wind. With 3.08 and those tires its under 2000rpm at 70 and goes just barely above 2000 at 75mph. Seems like a good match.

Not sure if a 3.08 is too high of a ratio for the tires but would that be alright without doing any harm?

What have you done for power steering? I know armstrong is what I think Rangmar kept his that way, but unfortunately its not an option. I'll have to look closely at usedkubotaman's S10 for his conversion to serpentine belt, rather not have to re-invent the wheel for the project (trying to keep it reasonably priced so my ol' lady doesn't murder me in my sleep and I finally got her to say yes to this project).

I'm running my p/s pump off the alternator's second pulleys groove, works just fine. I initially built my ranger with no p/s or p/b but soon realized that sucked so this was my add on solution. Going forward on my next build I will be making it look more like a factory job like Usedkobotaman's.
