I have my turbo draining into the pan, I have an oversized pipe angling up from the pan so the turbo drain line dumps in well above the oil level. I don't have the NPR alt, but I believe most are draining it in the valve cover.

This is where mine are.

That oil port is already being used by something else on my engine, but I never looked close enough to see what. Honestly, it would make my engine mounts go a lot easier if I could open up that one port. I'm planning on using one of the ports from the oil filter adapter.

The port is probably being used for your fuel pump oil feed. It should have a metal line coming off running up close to the pump. I removed my manual pump, cut the injector cam, and changed the rear cover, now I use an electric pump. However, if you'll look at the side of the block there are multiple oil ports down the side, they have allen screws in them.

I have my rack limit turned out 2 full turns from stock Carrier setting. Does anyone want to share how many turns out they are running on their conversions?

From what I Gather in all of my reading is that Too much Fuel in a Diesel can melt it down. And also due to the lack of piston sprayers to reduce temperature then one should look to keep there Max EGT around 1200 F. So with that information you can turn out the rack limit screw till you are near 1200 F under load. But being that it is kinda cool right now in TEXAS you may have to turn the Rack Limit screw back in when temperatures rise. So just keep an eye on your EGT's.

Question:

V2003DI, Does the crank pulley have any taper in it or does it just slide over the crank and get clamped down by the nut?

Not tapered but has a key. You will have to use a puller to remove it. Make sure you tighten the nut up real good they like to come loose.

Just an FYI for you guys that want another option for trans mounting. The flywheel cover on the Carrier V2203's is SAE 4, but the flywheel is a Carrier spec and NOT SAE. So the flywheel adapter will have to be a custom deal. Phoenix adapters sells trans adapters for sb ford sb GM and sb Mopar.
