Hey everyone. I've been thinking for sometime to maybe do a swap of my 5.8. My truck is in mint condition and only has 109k miles on it. I was wondering if anyone would know how much it would cost around to swap in a Cummins or a Powerstroke. I also didn't know since its the Heavy Duty if it would change the price at all. Also my trucks a 4x4 if that means anything.

The cost depends on your patience in finding parts. Probably anywhere from 6`000 on up. If you can find a complete donor truck that is the best way to go. I have a cummins in an old 85 F250 that runs great. I did the conversion back in the winter of 99-00 and I spent about 6`000 at that time. But now there are places that specialize in conversions so you can buy most of the mounts and adapters needed. So take your time and do some searching around for an engine that you like.
