I got my bobcat oil pan and dip stick last week, but I have not installed them yet. I will need to put in the new dipstick and an oil fill. I am would like to see your filler. Are you going to use a AN bulkhead fitting with a o-ring and jam nut? or tap for threads?
Does anyone know if there is a replacement valve cover gasket available that is re-useable silicone?

what size fitting? So O-ring on the inside or outside? I would think that you could put the jam nut on the inside and like you said trim down the left over. Hopefully it will clear the valve train.
are you going in from the flat top. It is too late, to go out to the shop. but if I remember there is a angled flat just off the topside of the VC towards the front of the engine on the drivers side.
I was thinking to weld a fill fitting on there. but a AN-12 bulkhead would work well too.

There is a spot on the front of the valve cover on top that looks like a knock out but it isnt . I drilled in the center of that and tapped it for the AN-12 fitting. So the fitting will be threaded in from the top as well as the O ring on the AN-12 fitting.
The place that also looks like a knock out but smaller at a 45 Degree angle on the valve cover I will probably tap and use an AN fitting for return oil from the Isuzu Vacuum Pump like what Rangemar did. But I will have to ask him to make sure.

This shows the other part that looks like a knock out but is not. I believe that Rangemar used this as a oil return from the Vacuum pump.
Sorry it is all still dirty.
I was going to clean it all up and paint it. Then take pictures along the way. So these are now a Before.

By the way I have decided to paint the Engine Orange. Yes like the Newer Kubota Tractor. Kubota calls it Orange II but I hope to get close with a Krylon Orange made for painting Engines.

I'm just a litte curious why you went with the an fitting. I cut it with a 1 3/4 hole saw and used a gm oil cap from a s-10. It was $2.50 at autozone. But maybe I'm just cheap.

I just remembered that FTE said the bottom of the rubber plug would interfere with the valve train as in not letting a valve fully close. That is the main reason. And I had the fittings laying around.

And the Isuzu Alternator/Vacuum pump should be here Dec,2nd. At times this shipping stuff is slow.
I should have another large package from Leonard's Parts in a little over a week. As I will wait for a couple of parts that he is waiting on before he ships the BOX.

And if I should get lucky and have room I may add this 1 Gallon Canadian Windshield Washer to use as an Inter Cooler Water Sprayer with 50% Water 50% Alcohol as it gets darn HOT in South Texas.

Well I am no Pro Painter or have a fancy Camera just a flip phone but it is good enough to go on an Engine and get greasy. Still looking for information for any further holes I need to make in it. But otherwise I think it looks decent in Chevy Orange.
