i bought a f250 rolling chasis, zf5, southbend clutch and flaxplate, a motor, motor mounts, exhaust manifold for about 5000-5500 and the motors not in the truck yet, i still need the adapter plate and a turbo, once i have those two items i can put the whole drive train actrually in the truck, then the fun of getting lines made for ac power steering and getting radiator hoses and such, i sent my harness out to dieselconvertions on the fifth of this month but still havnt heard back from them, the swaps allot more stright forward then i thought after starting it and actrually reading about them and the parts.... you can actrually buy the majority of the parts online with out making much custom stuff.... i have been having allot more luck with www.dieselconvertions.com rather then everyones favorite Destroked - THE Cummins Conversion Company : Home Page everything from talking on the phone to the website i like more,

Body swaps can be a pain seeing as all the mounts are likely fairly different between the two. It can be done, but I really see no benefit in doing one versus bolting up the Cummins in the Ford engine bay.

Looks like dieselconversions.com is the new face of ford-cummins.com....haven't seen the new site until now, but it does look like an improvement. I've dealt with ford-cummins.com in the past and they are pretty fair; fast turnaround and decent customer service, but some of their parts just don't seem very "refined", imho. Maybe things have changed in the past 5 years...

I'd steer clear of the Dodge front axle personally....unless your Ford happens to be 2wd and that's all you have to work with. I'd mainly avoid the Dodge axle due to balljoint life reputation, CAD, and non-freespin unit bearings....not to mention the pain of having to adapt or convert all the short link and coil stuff. The Fords are straightforward axles, non-CAD, simple leaf or radius arm suspension, and most have dialouts....and if it's already under the body you like, why not keep it simple?

im with you, the whole point in even doing the swap in my eyes is to get the good motor but get rid of the bad chasis, its almost like your doing to much work to come out of it with litterally pretty much the same truck just different interior..

I have a great start for someone willing to put the finishes on one. I have a 2005 F-250 with all the adapter plates and everything installed. I was only lacking the TPS and the Power steering stuff. I was forced into driving it and the Transmission went. I would gladly take $6500 for the truck. Located near Memphis Tn.
