What kind of suspension upgrades will need to be done to my k1500 in order to hold a 6bt cummins?

the only 6bt conversion ive seen was on a 77 ford ranger. he did a 6" spring lift up front with 4" blocks in the back. it would be smart to cut out the old and weld in larger leaf spring mounts on the frame to at least an inch. also, poly spring bushings would be ideal for the added weight. btw, he went from a 351 modified to the 6bt. the modified weighs a tad bit more than your 350 or 305.

probably not a bad idea. i had a 86 heavy half so im not sure how similar the front suspension bushings are between the two but mine would have taken a beefing up of the shackles and bushing mounts to hold something that heavy
