I Have a om617 swapped into an s10 anyways the motor has always ran good recently it sucked in some water and ever since then it has trouble start when hot. It just dumps out black smoke but will not start until about 10 min later. I notice I have a leaking delivery valve, an injector line and the hand primer leaking. But would these only affect this when it's hot and it's just happends to be after this happend? I have my intake pump feeding it constantly so it's always priming when the ignition is on.

 

It sounds like you may have a air leak and it gets worse when it gets warm.

 

The only fuel leak that I have is a delivery valve. All it wants to do is dump out smoke but takes awhile to start.... I'm waiting on copper washers but I'm doubting that is my problem.

Are your glowplugs working, I know my OM617 powered 53 F100 still needs the glowplugs to start even when warm. It will start if I just keep winding on it, but mostly just smokes
