Default Radiator swap question

I'm replacing the radiator in my 1984 K2500 6.2 Suburban. Hit a tree, but that's all I'm saying about that. I found a new radiator for a good price, but the engine oil and A/T fluid coolers and their connections are swapped from stock. That is, they're on opposite sides of the factory setup. I can shorten the engine oil lines and may be able to use the A/T lines from the donor vehicle I bought, as that rig's connections are on the same side.

Am I looking at anything that can cause me any trouble? Why aren't the lines always connected on the same side of the radiator? Does it have anything to do with 2WD vs. 4WD? I live in southern Nevada in the winter.

Thanks.
