Default Anyone have any idea what this is for?

Just bought a 2005 F250 King Ranch, pretty new to diesel trucks... this part in the picture was by the brake release, even the sales people at the Chevy Dealer couldn't tell me what it was, they say it's for the audio system, i'm on the fence about that...

Just curious, thanks!...

I can't tell what that is... can you get a few more pics from a few different directions?

It appears to be a dial, is it? Give it a turn and see what happens. I would think audio, idle control, or maybe a switch for a chip.

Thanks for the replies, I tried looking more into, and just fiddling around with it, it doesn't seem to have an effect, so I'm assuming it IS probably for the sound system, and perhaps the previous owner took their subwoofer out.

Is it possible to trace the wires and see where they go?

Does it rotate smoothly or does it click into detents when rotated?

There aren't really any "chips" for 6.0's. As for high idle, that's a simple wire splice into the factory upfitters so I doubt anyone would go through the trouble to wire in a separate one.

I think you got it right there. not very forthcoming in the website but it looks like they only offer one product for the 6.0 so...
