Default Water in fuel light.

So my "water in fuel" light will come on intermittently, then goes away before i have time to inspect. I'm just wondering is this a normal thing? should i try running that de-moisture stuff through my tank?

'96 12v all stock. currently running on WVO.
thanks for any help

If your light comes on you have water in a significant amount in your fuel filter/water seperator bowl.
Drain it now!

Moisture in the IP is an dangerous thing because it collects at the bottom causing rust and corrosion in the IP.
Tolerances in the IP are in the 2 to 3micron range- a Human hair has 70 micron. Rust kills the IP.
Sadly enough WVO contains a lot more water than pure diesel.

Again- drain and clean the seperator bowl. NOW!

since you run wvo, i would make it a habbit of draining the water out of you FF every couple of days. and would let you truck set for very longwith out running it. i have seen what wvo will do to a p-7100 when it sets for a couple weeks to a month at a time. not a pretty sight. the pump needed a complete rebuild. so we sold the guy a used p-pump instead of the 2000-2500 it was gonna cost to have his rebuilt, or to get a reman

I would cook it out..

weigh the cost of that vs. replacing injection pumps or worse
