Default thirsty diesel

lost fuel pressure. had plenty of fuel in tank. removed line from pump on rail it had no fuel in it dropped tank and cleaned mixer and tank. I also replaced fuel pump. I got plenty of pressure up to filter bowl but truck did not start. It will not hold pressure in line

the bowl assy sometimes leaks, look in between the block below the cover, if you see diesel, you might have a bad one. plus under the hood it smells like diesel.

Ipulled the cap on the fuel filter and it was full of fuel.

you can still have a full bowl, the assy can still leak.

right in between the two banks (where the engine makes a v) look down there to see if there is any fuel on the block, if you do, then your assy is leaking and has to be replaced.

not sure if this is your problem, but I have seen many 7.3l do this, and 90% of the time, that is the problem.
