Default Brake Lights Will Not Go Off.

Heres my problem. The brake lights are stuck on with the truck on or off. With the truck off i push the switch all the way in manualy and they stay on. I turn the 4 ways on and the dash signal lights just stay on. My left turn signal works but the right don t. My trailer brake controler light stays on. I unplugged it and the brake lights stay on. With the truck off the brake lights are on if i turn the left turn signal on with the key OFF the left signal goes out. I check the rear trailer plug for stuff in there and all clear. An ideas. I got no brake lights and by the time morning comes around ill have a dead battery.

unplug the switch and take that out of the equation. if the lights go off then 99% sure that is your problem. do you have any adapter harnesses around the rear of the truck for trailer lighting? unplug all those and see if that makes a difference.

Thanks guys. This is what i came up with. I unplugged the brake light switch and the multifuction switch and the lights were still on. So i knew that the lights were getting power some how after the switch. i went back and found that the previous owner cut a trailer plug off with a set of side cuts and the wires made a connection some how. Problem solved. Thanks again.
