Default Speedometer quit

Driving to lunch today and my speedo quit working everything else works but that.

It is an electronic speedometer. It could be the speedometer itself but is more likely to be the sensor. I think the sensor is in the differential. You might be able to take it out and clean metal filings off to make it work again but replacing it is a better idea.

Ok.I happened to notice it was only doing it when the overdrive light was flashing??

I think the sensor should be just fine because the car ECU has not given out any complain. The metre has something wrong, I guess.
