Sad 2000 ford 7.3 tow truck

tow truck/ very hard starting in am just keeps cranking. hard starting after shut down. it shuts down when engageing crain.have to keep foot on fuel pedal to use crain so it dont stall. when it does stall wont start without starting fluid.no smoke,no loss of power runs real strong. has 196k original owner. one year ago installed new glow plugs,new injectors, recently installed new ipm,& injecter pump pressure valve,fuel filter water separator, air filter,filter on hydrolic system, changed oil. NEED HELP any sugestions will be appreciated. thank you Big Al

First off, don't use ether on these trucks. You are asking for trouble by doing that...

In the morning or after it sits for a good period of time, Check the level of oil in the HPOP.. Should be within a 1/2" of the top.

95powersmoker would know better than me but i believe there's o rings need replacing in it

I think the HPOP drain can either be caused by bad HPOP O-rings or an IPR issue...

would an ipr make it drain while its off though? that's why i'm leanin towards the drain

The part that I'm a little worried about is that it won't restart when hot... Possibly a failing LPOP not being able to keep oil in the HPOP Res...

If it was a true drain from failing o-rings, it would only drain when sitting for a long while.

my friends truck has had a similar problem and it ended up being the controller that does something with the oil pressure and the injectors, it was bad. after it was replaced it worked fine.

ya he had a problem with one of those before also but his truck was a 02 psd and his computer was bad. it was a guess weather it would start or not. sometimes he had to let it sit for 15 min then try it again.
