6bt squeak? (not the belt)
hey I just bought this engine to do a swap into my 75 f-250 4x4, the engine had 149k on it when the guy rolled the truck. I fired the engine up and a squeak comming from the left hand side of the block, right by the mechanical transfer pump. I hope its not a bearing but take a listen and let me know what you think?

im not sure wat it could be. but if u take a piece of hose to use it like a hearing aid kinda or one of them nurse things they check ur heart with that could help and u could also use a water hose and where the noise is when u hit it witth water it should quit for a second or two

ya good oil, thats the only one that counts . the radiator isn't even on the frame so maybe it is the water pump? i hope so ill put the hose to it and see if it still squeaks

okay, it sorta sounds like rings to me? or bearings. guy said it sat for 9 months some people have mentioned that filling the entire engine with oil to preserve it will help when storing? would this help just to get everything lubed up? i only ran it for less than 2 minutes total

rings? bearings in ur motor as far as rod bearings and main bearings would knock and eventually throw a rod thats how it was in my sbc's my truck has set for a few months at times and started rite up if the motor was locked up then id put oil in it where ur injectors go in
