stuck in 3rd???
while driving, noticed (ats performance) trans would not shift into over drive. when stopped, REALLY sluggish takeoff, wouldn't downshift out of 3rd gear. any ideas? :-( has triple-lock controller attached, blew a line the other day and sprayed trans fluid everywhere before i realized what was going on. filled her back up and drove fine for a couple of weeks, then... ugh. PS --> the next day, my injection pump puked. could it have possibly done the "limp home" default to third right before the pump died? i really dont want to have to rebuild this sucker.
well the trans was bought in 06 (of course with a 3 year warranty).. the line blew apart directly behind the front bumper, the little tabs were bent in a little too much from where i flushed the system when i got the truck at Christmas 09. i bent them back out, filled her back up and she ran fine until right before the pump went out. i think we got something figured out last night though... we put the new inj pump on and the trans is operating better... but not normal. now it shifts abnormally hard, and still seems sluggish when shifting. downshifting is almost nonexistent unless you really floor it or come to a stop. thanks!!!
Try reseting the electronics by un hooking the batteries and holding the brake pedal for atleast 30 seconds. That should reset most of the computers on the truck. Hopefully it works on yours and it is not one that requires another computer to be hooked up just to reset it.
