Default Tranny problems

From start my truck will only go up to 20mph, and as soon as it hits 20, it then just drops and acts like it has just been shifted into neautral... it wont go anywhere. 4x4 dont work, and neither does reserve... no codes are tripped or anything....

That's actually one of my questions also but like my buddy told me you might as well spend the little extra and get am already built/modified if you don't know how to build it so you won't be with out your truck for a little bit ya know?

I would say if you dont know how to do it 100% correct then I would buy one already built. Personally I know how to do it but there are so many little tiny things inside of a 48RE that you could accidentally miss during assembly that its just not wort it for me to do for my personal truck or for my customers. As far as aftermarket transmissions go the ONLY one I would use for durability and performance is one from Dave Goerend of Goerend Transmission (goerend.com) . I have had his transmission in my truck for three years and when I broke my STOCK output shaft making over 700HP we tore into the whole transmission just to check it out and there was barely any wear on the rest of the internal parts. He is a very nice guy and his customer service is hard to beat. He does stuff inside of those transmissions that a tranny guy that builds trannys for big name racers in NHRA said was stuff he wouldn't think of doing. That guy has been building transmissions for 2000+HP cars for nearly 20 years and when he told me that I was impressed. One of the other benefits of a Goerend transmission is the cost. when I researched it he was quite a bit cheaper than ATS for in my opinion a better transmission. Well there is more than my two cents worth. I hope this helps you out. I would call Dave and talk with him about what you do with your truck and what your future plans are for it and I know he will be able to come up with a good transmission for you.

Bigtxdually that's alot of helpful info! Hmmm your the second person that has recommended them.... I really hope he is as good as you say he is . I'm just a little nervous cause I don't wanna spend. Bunch of money then something goes wrong and they don't warranty it or anything you know? Speaking of which what are his warranties?

He has a 3 year 100,000 mile warranty and if you want the lifetime warranty on his torque converter its like an extra $245 (well worth the extra for that) . Here is his price sheet.

Goerend Transmission Incorporated

He has very reasonable prices for how good of a transmission he makes. I have had friends and customers that have his transmissions and love them as much as I do mine.
