Default Possible Blown Head Gasket Coolant out of Exhaust Modified 04 6.0

Hey guys,

We took a trip up to VaBeach to see family this nice fourth of July weekend and our 04 6.0 has been pouring coolant out of the exhaust at startup (maybe a half a quart each startup) She has been losing coolant for weeks, and I assumed a leak, but could never find a definite possibility. Just today she started spitted it out of the tailpipe. It is almost straight coolant coming out, a little dirty from exhaust, but not oily, or mixed. Then she will smoke white for a few minutes I guess until it burns off. Occasionally while putting her around, trying to diagnose, I will see white smoke at idle.

This is a heavily modified truck, suspension, and performance wise, and I am pretty sure a blown head gasket is the cause. I wanted to get some opinions, because if I have to pay to get this fixed, I might as well get some quality gaskets and bolts on so it doesn't happen again.

What are your average Ford repair bills for this sort of surgery? My dads Ford motor guy that works at a stealership said $3000-4000 ...

Thanks in advance guys,

-J

With the problems ford has had out of the 6.0 I would say A cracked head. You might get lucky but I wouldn't bet on it.

Default EGR cooler is cracked.

Almost positive. See it all the time. Pull your egr valve and look in the intake manifold. Is there moisture in there? If so cooler is cracked for sure.
