Question 98 K3500 transfer case wiring harness.

I got my big boy running over the past few weeks. Took it out to cut firewood and noticed it would not shift into four wheel drive. (Thank goodness I did not need it) I looked at all the components and they seemed to be fine. Then I noticed the wiring harness for the transfer case had some exposed wires and some of them are severed.

I should be able to repair this, well I better be able to, because one, I can not find a replacement harness, and two I don't want to have to pull one out of a junkyard, because it is the dirtiest I have ever gotten in my life!!! I have dreads in my hair from all of the grease and grime. ( I cleaned it after that fiasco, Thank you engine degreaser)

Does anyone out there have a schematic of this harness so I can make sure I am connecting the right wires to each other? It is a 98 Chevy Silverado (K-3500) Crewcab dually (W/ 6.5 TD). The existing wires are all different colors and some I can not make out the colors because the wiring is so old or gone. I need to make sure they are right (The wires) before I put this thing back on my truck. I am just going to splice new wire in its place.

The actual harness has several connectors attached to it. It comes from the four wheel drive switch mounted to the firewall, then splits and goes down to the front axle where the hub actuator is. The other part of the split goes back to the transmission/transfer case assembly and hooks into three or 4 spots, not exactly sure what they are, I assume they are for shift points, maybe reverse switch and speedometer and something else?

Basically I just need a good schematic so I can get this harness together how it needs to be. Maybee e-mail it to me or post it on here somehow. Thanks!

cant help ya with a schematic but the best advice i can give you comes from personal experience after owning over 20 of these trucks, and thatd ditch the np243 or 246 (or whatever one you have) you got in there, and go back to a np241 floor shift. the touch button 4wd is a joke. go back to a manual floor shift and never look back. and its ten times less likely to leave you stranded

Thanks for the advice, but I do have the NP241 in the truck. It shifts on the floor. The actuator I am talking about is for the hubs, not for electronic 4wd. I think it is the harness for the 4wd controls.
