Default 2nd Gen Down

So I am postin for my buddy Bullrider 96 cuz he says the internet no work in Mexico. Anyway he's got a 96 2nd gen and says its hard to start and will only rev to 2000 rpms. I told him it sounds like the lift pump but figured I'd ask you fellars for him too. He said it will start just not easy and doesn't run good at all. Any ideas are appreciated.

Is it posible for you to post more info about his truck....what are we working with here...symptoms are one thing but we need more about the truck...

any guages..big one being FP..if so whats it showing when truck is cranked and once its running.

how long ago did the filter (fuel) get changed

did he get bad fuel...

how old is the lift pump...

is it the stock lift pump or aftermarket...

could air be introduced from somewhere...fuel line crack or maybe fuel filter...

hows the voltage to the lift pump...

is the truck BOMBED???? different injectors/injectors fouled...

just need more to go on....the question is straight forward but the answer could be hard or easy depending on some background info.

He's not really in Mexico, just New Mexico. The truck is a 1996 12 valve, 3200 spring, stock lift pump, all gauges except fuel pressure, fuel plate adjusted for more power, 5 speed. I cant think of anything else, don't know when the fuel filter was changed last but i think he said it came on all the sudden. All the diesels I've driven and stopped up fuel filters Ive had, Ive never seen one make it hard to start so I doubt he's that lucky. I told him to try to check the fuel pressure. Im still bettin lift pump. Hopefully he will get back to civilization with internet, he can tell you more than I can. Thanks for the help

His truck info is in his sig found here in his "About Me" section

Caposa homes. It sounds like you might be getting some air in the system maybe.
