Like I was saying.....Air introduced....also...injector body cracked...leaking fuel (hard start symptom caused by this happening)...common on 3rd gen...not to sure about the rate that it happens to our trucks but I have heard it happening...possibily due to the age of the injector (s) or heavy fueling of the injector.

Hope it works out...

You've got air getting in somewhere homes. Check your fuel hoses coming from the tank and see if they are cracked.

You can be getting air from anywhere in the fuel system

The lines dry rot from the inside. They develop very small holes that let air in but dont let fuel out.

ding ding...I think we have a winner!!!

Check the easiest and obvious areas first....connection at tank, then follow it up to the lift pump and check the inlet side of line connection, then check the oulet side of the lift pump...follow that to the fuel filter housing....check the inlet and outlet sides and the housing itself check the lid if it backed off....check the injection pump inlet from the fuel filter....lastly feel out the lines themselves. check for flat spots, chaffed areas, pinches, bends, feel for cracks (splintered areas) mushy areas...etc.
