Default Run Away??

Ok so i dont really know if it is really a run away but heres the situation.
when I got my 180 p-pump I did a free 3k gsk, 10 plate, and turned the afc star nut up.
I finally got the truck all back together and went to fire it up and it idle for a split second than rev'ed to over 3k and I backed out the high idle and it feels like the low idle is all the way down like bottomed out or close to.
when I put the washers in to do the gsk I set the cap nuts back to the same spot I pulled them of by measurement. do you think it might be the gsk acting up?
oh I also pulled the afc off to make sure the arm wasn't stuck under the plate.

Sounds Like your GSK Its been a while since i done them but i think if you don't reuse the stock outer spring it wont idle right

so it turns out that it seems like I am just behind the power curve and when I did the free 3k gsk by putting a washer in there I just threw everything off and well looks like I am buying a 3k spring set and it should set all my issues straight.

i tried the washer mod but after doing some more research on it i pulled it out. those governors are balanced pretty specific and hardware store washers have no place in them. plus if they're not exactly right in sizing you'll get issues like what you had.
