any luck yet with your truck and you changed your fuel filter and have plenty of fuel at your injectors

Wow aint this a Doozy, maybe loss of compression or something like that. i mean you have fuel going into injectors but no smoke. I don't think it would be injectors fouled.

well I got a ride home and will be picking the truck up in the morning. I've had some time to think about things that happened over the week.
Wensday the truck loss a little power and the idle dropped about 150 rpm. I noticed this when I killed the truck at a stop light. it has never died before.
Thursday morning it started slower than normal 2-3 cranks
this morning i had to step on the throttle for it to start. almost normal power and normal smoke.
millage is 286000 I have owned it for 35000 and have had to do nothing other than service.

I agree with the timing problem, maybe gears. I have never done anything with a cummins.

Did it just suddenly quit? Does it re-start after cooling off?
Sounds to me like the VE is getting tired...

Evidently it just gets taken to a shop and whatever work is specified gets done.
Sometimes I wonder why I even bother trying to help people around here.
