I have a 1995 dodge with a ctd & western plow when lights are on they blink off afret 30 -45 min if you shut them off and wait a few min they work just fine for a while again i have removed the head light switch and nothing looks wrong or burnt on the switch but plug looks like there was some heat in it their is evidence of there being heat but not from this switch i believe i put one in 3 years ago and theri was problems with the switch the wireing harness from the plow wireing shows no evidence of wear or bare wires is there any thing else that could cause this problem

 

The headlight switch is bad. It has a circuit breaker built inside it that is getting week. My bet is that it either only does it when the high beams are on or does it more often when the highs are on. Replace the switch and your problem will go away

 

my buddy has this same problem. its the headlight switch. just replace and it should go away, the circuit breaker gets weak.
