I would also check for blow by! had same prob with my 04 ended up being broken ring on number six. Ran great after it warmed up. hope you catch yours before too late. I had to replace engine. but it also has about the right amount of miles to replace injector.

The turbo could also be leaking oil past the seal

Well if an injector lets go, it's gonna wreck the engine.

He doesnt have to replace them - pull them and have them checked.

Is it the 03 Ram?? If so, you can have them checked by the dealer, so you don't have to pull em out to check them. But be warned, with that many miles, and you replace just the one that's the worst, they're gonna keep failing. IMHO, replace them all with remand Bosch injectors, or you can get brand new ones.

If it smooths out when you rev the engine, then yes it's an injector.
