Injector Pump Diaphram

I bought two springs, gave one to my buddy. He tried to install his yesterday and says he thinks he broke something to do with an adjustment screw a tab maybe? I'm going to go by his place today to see if I can help him any. Maybe get a pointer or two on what to expect when I try to do mine later this evening. any advice?

well I attempted to install my spring today. one of the allen screws striped so I was unable to accomplish this feat. It's the bolt closest to the engine toward the back. i'll have to wait until I can take the pump off and grind a slot in the bolt to make it a screw. On an upper note I hooked up an isspo boost gauge and my old stock CTD is making about 10 pounds of boost when you step on it. Now I need a 3 gauge piller pod for my first gen. Is there such an animal???

worked on my buddies 89 ctd. he had broke an arm inside the pump that is pushed in with the fuel screw. we mig welded the arm back together and got it together with the new spring. it wouldn't start so we discovered his lift pump was out. changed it out now the truck runs better than new.

my buddy's beater 89 CTD is screaming now that we put the spring in turned up the pump and replaced the lift pump. he literally burned the back tires off of it today...
as far as mine goes we are going to have to pull the IP off to do the spring change because of the stripped allen bolt.
