I would want to say a clutch issue?? A bad pilot bushing, throwout bearing, warped flywheel, damaged disc. Could also be something in the transmission.

That would be the first place I looked if no effect is felt in the powerband.
The Damper could cause some of this but it would be present more so above 1800.
The oem units in some cases would rip the internal rubber peices. I'm not sure how the new ones are made. There's no TSB's for a vibration!

what does anyone think about the dual mass flywheel?? i have read about others having problems with this but havnt found the symptoms of a bad flywheel yet.

just a question does the truck shake like it would on a cold start when it rocks the whole truck .... and the cam lopes real hard.... if so it could be like mystersync said fuel possibly.... look into the timeing as well.... if the truck is doin it only at those rpms then it is either in the ruel or the trans area..... good luck man

the truck shakes like it has bad rottors, and you hit the brakes and the hole vehicle shakes. its like that but just between 1500-1800 rpms. i dont have bad rottors i was just using that as an example.
