fuel running back to tank
hey guys, just getting ready to replace the lift pump in my '96 ram 1 ton, and was wondering when i do, will this also stop the fuel from running back to the tank after the truck sits for a few days. Is there a check valve in the lp, or in the ip... thanks all

This is generally caused by the internal pressure regulator being worn out or a bad ground in the pump wiring that doesn't allow the regulator to close when you shut the truck down, so ya either way if you replace it it should fix the problem.
If you listen close just as soon as you hear the truck shut off, if you hear fuel rushing back into the tank that's a bad ground, if you don't then the bypass is just worn out.
