94 cummins ac problems
truck is single cab and 4x4. i have had an ac problems for about a yr now. i will be darned if i am spending another hot summer with no ac. i have replaced everything in the system except the evaporator inside the cab. this includes the compressor, all lines, dryer, orifice, condensor, etc under the hood. i recharge the system w/ r-134 and the system begins to work fine. it does good for about an hour, after awhile it begins to pop off at the pop off valve on the backside of the compressor. at least that thing is working huh? can anyone help me?

gonna try what i can tomorrow finally getting a chance to take care of some of MY problems. hey there 94cummins12v, what exactly did you do to it to fix it? i can think maybe replace the switch but you never know. i also have a theory that maybe the switch that tells the compressor to shut off and on may have a problem as well. when i put the new compressor on the connection for the wires was different, i contacted them and they said the connector would just have to be wired so bring it in, little do they know i am a candoooooo kinf of guy. there are only two wires and i am sure i have them hooked up correctly according to voltages and color codes as per the haynes manual. so throw me a bone on what you had going on. like i said, when i charge it it works fine for awhile, but before long, it just blows of with high pressure. i did not think the switch inside the cab could cause this problem but i am willing to try anything now. please help!!!!!!!!!!

well, the wires do not attach from that switch anywhere else than the blower motor and they only operate the blower motor. so replacing that switch will not solve my problems. i dont think you and i had the same problem. thanks for the help though.

If the pop off valve is opening and dumping refrigerant I would look to see if the condenser is clean. That should only open if there is too much head pressure. Maybe the pop off valve is weak. Are you using refrigerant gauges to check the pressures or are using the single gauges that comes with a kit that has, I believe, yellow, green, red indication?

i know on mine i put a jumper wire from the pump to the cab and it solved the problem only flaw is you have to shut it off evry now and then so it dont burn up the pump
