Default possible fuel pump

2004 f350 6.o while driving it will lose power sputter then shut off also fuel pump on frame making loud whinning noise.Both filters have been changed.

I dont know if I need to but if I wait till fuel pump quits running after I turn key on it almost always starts back up

It sounds like it could be either a bad pump or the fuel line could be sucking in air. The easiest way to check this is to apply air pressure to your tank and check for leaks. If the pump is bad and you want a better than factory pump, FASS is in the testing phase of a powerstroke direct replacement pump.
