Default HELP!! Friends truck is vomiting

Hey guys. Long story short here:
I have a friend that bought a 1989 or 1990 Ford f250 with a 97 PS in it.
He's had battery and alt issues already so he's starting to get fed up.
He went to start it today and it started fine, looks at the mirror and the fuel fill in the front tank is vomiting fuel.
He switched to the second tank real quick and the truck smokes a lil, then dies.

Whats his issue? I just learned maybe the injectors are not in all the way?
How can i get to the injectors and what size tools will i need?

Any help will be appreciated.
Mike

Sounds like he's got a faulty fuel selector valve.

Bingo. Had it happen on my '88. It switches part way. Enough to keep the truck running and pump fuel into the other tank. Never did fix it. I just let the front tank run low and then switched to the rear. When the rear would run low I'd switch back to the front and have a quarter to half a tank left.

Sounds like a plan to look at that. Might also have lift pump issues, unsure as of yet

Since no updates in a long time, I'm going to assume this is a fixed problem and am closing the thread. If need be, this thread can be reopened.
