Default Oil from down under........

Changed oil today...checked out ok...ran errands all afternoon... When I returned home I noticed oil leaking from between the engine and the transmission and it trailed all the way back to the tail pipe on the passenger side. The leak seems to be just right side of the powertrain. The vehicle is an E-350 Club Wagon with 7.3 turbo. It has never in nine years let me down.. apart from water pump and transmission rebuild. She still rolls strong with 342,000 miles of trail behind her. I heard that the rear main seal is seldom an issue with this motor. I hope that is the case. But, If anyone has any ideas please share...

Check the engine valley. Anything that leakes in the valley drains out thru the back and comes out between the engine and transmission. It's kind of misleading. It might have a leak up top that's running down the valley. It could be a turbo pedestal or your high pressure oil system. I'd start by looking there. You will have to take off the dog house. If you find it very oily drench it in brake clean an let it dry. Then you'll be able to pinpoint it.

Since no updates in a long time, I'm going to assume this is a fixed problem and am closing the thread. If need be, this thread can be reopened.
