Default HELP P-pump shaft thread size?

We were working on setting the timing on Iker42's truck (97 215 pump) tonight and everything was going great, until the nut would not tighten. It just kept spinning, so we tried to take it off and it still kept spinning. Long story short the entire front is now off the truck and we got the nut off after some convincing but the nut and shaft both are stripped. The shaft looks like the threads are just pulled over a little bit but the nut is fubared. We have another nut accessible but the shaft is going to need to be chased.

What size is the shaft and what thread pitch, if anyone knows.

We are checking for a die to see if we have any big enough to get it fixed tonight but need to know the size to be looking for if we can not find one we will be buying one on Monday I guess.

If the shaft can not be chased we are either going to swap it out and have this one fixed or die it one size smaller and get a different nut. What do you all recommend, and has anyone ever had this happen to them.

Thanks
Travis

A 30 MM socket and a 3/4 inch wrench, nothing special yet anyway.

dont have a clue on the size, but if you have the other nut you should be able to check the thread pitch in it. If you have a thread pitch guage. You might have to call a shop to figure that out.

I thunk of that but was hoping that someone knew so I could call around to find the die since I am sure that it is not that common of a size.
