Im glad you guys have this handled for me already. My truck does to a tee what your truck is doing 99 in need of love. Drive it down the road and bam nothing. 2 pumps and were blowin smoke again. It started doing it when my under dash junction connector got loose and everyhting quit. I wonder if when I un plugged it with the key on I lost calibration. This looks like a pretty cool site. Thanks!

Pump Failure Code usually means your VP is dying.

I Just put in one of the aftermarket APPS from blue chip diesel a few days back, all codes are cleared and have not returned. The pedal "kicking out" problem has ended, but i do still get a loss in power and that will return, sometimes intermittantly (causeing mild whiplash ). The Airdog should be in the mail by now so ill update soon as its on. I have heard that if you put a new lift pump on with VP44 that has a cracked diaphram, it makes the truck a pain to start, anyone have info on that? Also with no codes present, could I still have a bad VP44? Thanks again

ya, sorry about the delay.

Well I put in the APPS sensor, and drove it for 3 or 4 days, and It did fix the the pedal cutting out, It also seemed to fix my warm start problem. It was only a few days, so i cant say it fixed the start from for one hundred percent. Last night i found time to put my Airdog 150 on. everything installed, crack my input line to my vp44 and bleed her out. Hit the key and fired right up. I pulled it out of the garage to make room to clean up and shut it off. After I cleaned up, jumped in it and took her for a spin. Runs great, really pulls threw the 2000 to 2800 rpm range MUCH! stronger. I come home and park it and get cleaned up thinking all my problems are finally behind me. went to bed.

This morning I woke up and went to wash it. Took about 5 seconds of rolling over, finally took and fired right up. Went to the wash and cleaned her up. Stopped at a store for my daughter and turned it off. Was in the store maybe 10 min. When I returned I rolled it over for 20 sec or so. no deal Howie. let the starter cool for a few min. repeated about 5 times. I finally gave it just a touch of starting fluid. Fired right up, and ran strong all the way home.

At this point in baffled, I thought maybe I had air in my injector lines. when i get home, i cracked a few lines, and bleed them. Turned it off, and tried to restart, maybe ten seconds later, rolled over with no fire up. So this leaves me with a few question for you guys.

* I thought maybe I had a fitting leak and was letting fuel to drain to tank, sucking in air. But I also tried to start it seconds after shutting down, to no avail, would that rule out a vacume leak?

* I have heard a if a new LP is paired with a VP44 with a cracked diaphram, the extra presure from the new pump could cause fuel the sneak threw the crack and mess with the internal presures of the 44, Is there any fact to that?

* other than that Im fresh out of ideas, and could use some input before I decide to hold a backyard illumination party with my truck suppling the fuel for the fire.

Thanks in advance!

P.S. I had a teflon tape question before install of my Airdog. I called the number on the manuel and spoke with gentalman about it and had a short chat with him after. I find out Its the owner of the company. (sorry, forgot the name) but he was more than insightful. What kind of leader he must be for that company. I would have figured a company of that size, the "boss" would have had his head in the clouds and felt way to important to answer a simple pipe tape question. Basically, I guess im saying, massive props to airdog and its owner, I feel like a bought a part that really has some customer service to back it up in world where the customer is usually last person to worry about keeping happy!
