To cam gear will have two marks on it, one for the injector pump, and the other for the crankshaft (both marks are a different shape). Now, your going to have to time the pump to cam first. Line the marks till the are pointing straight at each other, then turn the cam 1/4 turn to the right until both marks point to the right side (facing the front) at a level. A 2nd mark should be pointing straight down. If pointing straight up, you got the pump and cam timed wrong. If it's straight down, can time the cam to crank.

Now to time when the advance/retard fueling. Once you bolt the injection pump to the engine, and the pump gear (be a one way bolt pattern), should be a line on the pump flange, and the flange on the engine. Make sure both marks are pointing at each other. Or if you prefer to have it advanced a little, pry the pump toward the number one bank, till you get about a line, 2 lines max past the mark on the engine.
