Default 03 2500 Ram wont start

Can't get this truck to start on it own. You can give it a squirt of ether and it will fire right up and run fine. Once you cut it back off it will not start back untill you squirt it with ether again. The fuel pump in the tank has been changed and the rubber fuel lines have been replaced. Any help would be greatly appreciated. It is not flashing any codes at all....

Sounds like a faulty FCA, faulty CP3, rail pressure relief has popped, or your needing new injectors.

BTW, any mods done to the truck??

FCA (kinda like a govenor) is limits the amount of fuel entering the CP3 (high pressure injector pump. Out put 6k-24k wop). From there it send fuel to a rail, which then it goes into the injectors. The rail pressure relief pops when pressure exceeds 28k, to keep the injectors from blowing. How did it act before the no start?? Run rough, white smoke??

The truck seemed to run good. It started out hard to start and it gradually got worse. When it first statred doing it we replaced the fuel filters and it would start right up. After we done this 5 or 6 times it has gotten to where this no longer helps. It also got to where you could bleed it off at the fuel filter and it would start but that no longer helps....

Could be the fuel pump is out to. If you bring it in, there will have you switch to the in-tank design ($500).

Also, if the older style went out, sends metal through your CP3 and injectors.

They replaced the one in the tank and the lines coming to the motor. So do you think it could have sent some metal to the cp3 or an injector? Is there any way you can tell if this has happened?

If it's in the tank, the fuel filter would stop the metal particles. With 180k, chances are your injectors are in need of replacement.
