03 2500 Ram wont start
Can't get this truck to start on it own. You can give it a squirt of ether and it will fire right up and run fine. Once you cut it back off it will not start back untill you squirt it with ether again. The fuel pump in the tank has been changed and the rubber fuel lines have been replaced. Any help would be greatly appreciated. It is not flashing any codes at all....:argh:

Sounds like a faulty FCA, faulty CP3, rail pressure relief has popped, or your needing new injectors.
BTW, any mods done to the truck?? |

FCA (kinda like a govenor) is limits the amount of fuel entering the CP3 (high pressure injector pump. Out put 6k-24k wop). From there it send fuel to a rail, which then it goes into the injectors. The rail pressure relief pops when pressure exceeds 28k, to keep the injectors from blowing. How did it act before the no start?? Run rough, white smoke??

Could be the fuel pump is out to. If you bring it in, there will have you switch to the in-tank design ($500).
Also, if the older style went out, sends metal through your CP3 and injectors. |

If it's in the tank, the fuel filter would stop the metal particles. With 180k, chances are your injectors are in need of replacement.

We finally figured it out. It had a bad injector...... thanks for all the help
