I drove my truck (F350 6.0 2003) while working and cut it off when I finished. It would not restart a few minites later. The next day I tried again and it would only turn over no start. The next day again I tried to start. It sounded a little more promising and aftert a burst of ignition it started. This same procedure repeated its self.

 

Have you checked your fuel flow? I had a lift pump go out on mine and had similar symptoms.

 

Oil Level? Good? Low? How long since oil change?

Fuel pressure is a big thing on 6.0L trucks. Check fuel pressure at a head. If its below 40psi, start looking for a restriction. Fuel filter is an obvious place to start. Next, check that your fuel pump is coming on, and if so, is it noisy? Maybe the strainer in the tank has and issue.
